WINSTON, MO (July 9, 2016) –  After a heartwarming opening ceremony where Law Enforcement Officers, Veterans, Active Military, and Firefighters were honored by our Drivers carrying flags in front of the fans, Carley Bowling and Katie Marshall would sing the National Anthem and we would set the stage for a night of exciting racing action.

“MadDog” Matt Dorssom #3D, E-Modified Feature Winner

E-Modifieds would take to the track setting the high standard as they would race wheel to wheel and side by side throughout the entire feature. Casey Burnett #23B would take the early lead blistering the track on the high line keeping other contenders at bay as the race wore on. Heat race winner Matt Dorssom #3d would move through traffic and work the low line to perfection getting by Burnett to pick up his tenth victory of the 2016 racing season at I-35 Speedway. Burnett would try to mount a charge back by Dorssom falling a little short and have to settle for second. Matthew Lance #12x would move to the front and challenge the leaders placing third on the night with another heat race winner Robert Fisk #31B having a solid night placing fourth in the feature event. Fifth place would belong to Bubba Beam #83 as he would be in contention the entire race. Other heat race winners were Austin Bouzek #14 and the #15 of Corey Myers who would develop engine problems in the latter stages. B-Feature winner was Kaelynn Peterman #03k who would hold off the field and claim the victory moving her to the feature.

“Gamer” Carson Masoner #20X, Pure Stock Feature Winner

Pure Stock would charge to the track and see Carson Masoner #20x win both his heat race and the feature adding to his point lead. Masoner would spin and keep momentum tagging to the rear and charge back through the field picking up the feature win. Austin McKinzie #09 would again have a fast and consistent showing placing second with Cody King #29 ending the feature in third. Jon Boller Jr #02x would race his way to fourth with Chris Christofferson #17C rounding out the nights top five. Other heat race winner was the #87 of Anthony Persell.

“Wamba” Buz Kaster #54, Charger Feature Winner

Chargers would see the familiar face of Buz Kaster #54 in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle. Kaster would hold of second place finisher Houston Johnson #97 and third place finisher Mich Ross #98M. Fourth would belong to Billie Hoover #154 with fifth going to the #9P of Marty Powell. Heat race winner was #63 of Dale Eaton.

“Mighty” Mark Billings #51, Midwest Lightning Sprint Feature Winner

Midwest lightning Sprints would see Mark Billings #51 take the early lead and hold off all challengers winning both heat race and feature. Billing would be challenged early by other heat race winner Tom Brown #B20 who would fade to second. Jason Billups #2 would again have a solid showing placing third with Ken Billings #85 fourth. Paden Moreland #19 would recover from an early race mishap to finish fifth on the night.

Mike Morrill #6, Mod Lite Feature Winner

Mod Lites would buzz to the track and witness great racing action as heat race winner Mike Morrill #6 would hold off all competitors winning the feature. Jeff Raffurty #98 was big mover of the race coming from deep in the field to place a close second. Other heat race winner Justin Raffurty #75 would finish third with Travis Alexander #36 fourth. Fifth place would belong to #3 Nathan Wolfe as he would have a solid finish.

 

 

Doug Keller #7, USRA B-Modified Feature Winner

USRA B-Modifieds would not disappoint the fans in attendance with great racing action from start to finish. Heat race winner Nic Hanes #17X would battle side by side with heat race winner Ed Noll #15 early in the feature until the fast #7 of Doug Keller would slip past the two and inherit the lead. Keller would not look back and cruise to the win with Hanes a very close second. Tim Eaton #211 would be in the mix the entire feature battling the front runners and come home third. Randy Ainsworth #57 would notch another top run placing fourth with Shadren Turner #17T rounding out the night’s top five.

Robert Bell #71, AllStar Midget Feature Winner

AllStar Midgets would roar to the fast 3/8ths mile speedway and see one and two in the points place one and to in the feature. Point leader Robert Bell #71 would win the feature holding second place in points Merril Lamb #7RS to finish second on the track. Third place would see Morgan Frewaldt #4F with Mike Epperson #08 fourth. Fifth place would belong to Paden Moreland #77 who would take a terrible roll over crash in turn number three ending his night of competition. Moreland would emerge from the car unhurt. Heat race winner was Dustin Gilbert #3 who would develop mechanical troubles taking him from contention.

 

“Racin” Jason Estes #997, USRA Stock Car Feature Winner

USRA Stock Car would again put on a show of epic proportions as point leader and heat race winner Jason Estes would put his #997 in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle. Estes would take the early lead until Dean Wray #77 would use the high line passing Estes for the lead only to see the fast #997 charge back by on the outside leaving Wray to second on the night. Third place would go to Aaron Sauter #83A with the always fast Billie Hoover #21H fourth. Jon Boller Jr #20x would race his way to another top five finish placing fifth on the night. Other heat race winner was Alvie Christofferson #22X who would slip in turn number one taking him from the lead and win contention.

 

“ZachAttack” Zach Sanders #69, USRA Modified Feature Winner

USRA Modifieds would take the track and see heat race winner Zach Sanders #69 lead every lap claiming the feature victory. Sanders would be challenged the entire feature by a very fast Derrick Hicks #78 who would place second holding off other heat race winner and third place finisher Dennis Elliott #29. Darren Shaw #11 would be big mover and shaker of the race coming from deep in the field to place fourth with Ryan Schaffer #R21 completing the night’s top five.

 

Ally “Bug” Miller #76, Heartland Missions & Motorsports Power Wheels Winner

Intermission would see the Heartland Missions and Motorsports Kids Power Wheels in action on the front straight. Ally “Bug” Miller #76 would start dead last on the twelve car field and pass all racers to claim her second win of the 2016 racing season. Second place would go to Leo Gonzalez #2G with Kaden St John #31K ending the competition third.

I-35 Speedway would like to thank all drivers and fans for another night of great racing action and family fun and staying for the outstanding Fireworks Display after the races.
