Big shows, new class and fan favorites highlight 2011 season at 34 Raceway

BURLINGTON, IA (January 18, 2011) - The upcoming 2011 season at Burlington’s 34 Raceway has been released and back at the helm are Jeff and Amy Laue, Lorrie and Scott Parrish and Tom and Sue Bowling in their fifth year of ownership of the 3/8 mile.  

Considered one of the finest racing facilities in the state, 34 Raceway will again offer some fan favorites, a new class in action, as well as bringing in the big shows for late model and sprint fans.  Fans will again see the return of  $5 admission night at different times throughout the season and country music fans will be treated to a special concert featuring Jake McVey, Nashville recording artist. 

IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and 305 Sprints will be back in the tracks 45th season and Hobby Stocks will return for an 11 night series throughout the 2011 year. 34 Raceway is also proud to announce they will be adding the Weikert Iron & Metal IMCA Sport Mods in an 8 night series joining previous series races including the 4 Cylinders (7 nights), and Mod Lites ( 5 nights).  

34 Raceway and Quincy Raceway have announced a new two track point fund for the IMCA Late Model division for 2011. This new "Bonus Bucks" effort between the two IMCA Late Model sanctioned tracks is designed to help stabilize and enhance the great late model racing tradition at these two tracks with a long and rich tradition of late model competition. The Q34 IMCA Late Model Points Fund will be based upon the traditional IMCA points structure with the addition of bonus points awarded for any driver who meets the eligibility requirements that wins one or both Track Championship Titles. 

Returning this season will be the 3rd annual Slocum 50 (Deery Brothers ICMA Late Model Series) kicking off the season on April 9 paying $3000 to the late model feature winner.  

The Sprint Invaders will make their first of three appearances on April 16 along with the IMCA Modified Shootout (paying $1000 to win). Making their first appearance at 34 Raceway will be the IMCA Sport Mods . 

In 2011 34 Raceway and Jacksonville Speedway are joining together to create a 4 night series for the 410 sprints. Dates are set for April 22 and 23 and Sept. 23 and 24. The driver who can will all four events at the two tracks will win a total of $13,000. 

May 13 will be the return of the Lucas Oil Late Models, always a fan pleaser. Then mark your calendars again for July 4th when the UMP Late Model Summer Nationals will take on the local track. After being absent since their 2006 appearance fans are sure to get their monies worth with the likes of 2010 series champion Jason Feger, Dennis Erb, Shannon Babb, Jeep Vanwormer, Billy Moyer, Jr, Wendell Wallace  and many more with their ground shaking turns of the oval.  

Fans will get double 360 sprint features on Aug. 20 with the popular Sprint Invaders Night of the Twins, featuring double features for the 360 sprints with the second feature seeing an inverted start of the first feature finish. 

The 20th Annual Pepsi USA Late Model Nationals return paying $10,000  to the winner of the 100 lap feature on Friday and Saturday Sept. 2 and 3.
