BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (April 25, 2014) — Kyle Falck (USRA Stock Cars) and Cory Crapser (USRA B-Mods) captured the feature wins Friday night as the Iron Man Challenge invaded the Bloomfield Speedway.

On the heels of two straight wins to open the 2014 campaign, Tom Schmitt took command at the start of the 20-lap USRA Stock Car main event.

The 2012 Iron Man champ relinquished the top spot to Falck on lap 5 only to regain the lead two laps later.

It was another short-lived stint, however, as defending Iron Man Challenge champion Mitch Hovden took command just before the race’s halfway point.

With three laps to go, Hovden was solidly in control when he bounced through a rough patch on the 3/8-mile clay oval and nearly sent his machine onto its side.

Before he could regain his momentum, Hovden was fourth and Falck was the new leader.

Falck went on to claim the $750 top prize with Mike Hughes, Dillon Anderson, Hovden and Jerry Pilcher following in second through fifth.

Schmitt held on to finish sixth.

A short but stout field of USRA B-Mods were on hand, with Dan Wheeler getting the jump at the drop of the green flag.

Slowly but surely, Crapser reeled in Wheeler and the defending Iron Man titlist took command on lap 8.

Crapser paced wheeler to the checkered flag eight laps later to garner the $600 first-place money while Carter VanDenBerg, Jim Gillenwater and Jared Timmerman made up the first five to the finish line.

USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will share the spotlight with the USMTS Modifieds once again on Saturday night at the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo.

The winner of the USRA Stock Car main event will pocket $750 and drivers taking the green flag in the main event get no less than $100. USRA B-Mods will be battling for a top prize of $600 and $75 to start.

Adults get in the grandstands for $17, kids ages 6-12 are $6 and children 5 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit passes are $35. Coupons good for $2 off adult admission can be found at Casey’s General Stores locations in Cameron, Gallatin and Maysville.

Pits open at 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5, hot laps begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m. The TrackSide Bar & Grill is open before, during and after the races.
