Langdale named director of IMCA Lucas Oil Central Region

Beatrice, Neb. (Jan. 10, 2005) Allen Langdale, former promoter at Beatrice Speedway and more recently at Thayer County Speedway in Deshler, is the new director for IMCA¹s Lucas Oil Central Region.

Along with making visits to sanctioned tracks in the region, Langdale will serve as a contact for promoters, other track officials and drivers, and help monitor contingency programs to ensure required decal use.

He'll also pen a column in the Coast to Coast section of the monthly Inside IMCA newsletter.

"I was a driver/owner for 17 years and a promoter for 15 years, so I know both sides of the business," said Langdale. "One of the things I like best about becoming director for this region is the opportunity to travel to different tracks and see how they operate. Traveling was not something I could do when I was promoting my own track."

"I'm really looking forward to this," added Langdale, who is from Beatrice and will continue his Monday through Friday job with the State of Nebraska's Department of Corrections. "I'm ready to start scheduling track visits now."

The Lucas Oil Central Region includes sanctioned tracks in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma, as well as the eastern half of Colorado.

"Allen is the perfect person for this job. He is exactly who we were looking for in the Central Region," said IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. "He already knows our cars, point system and race procedures and will be able to help promoters in all aspects of their weekly race program."
