Performance Bodies expands rookie
program to include Northern SportMods

Cedar Falls, Ia. (Feb. 24, 2006) Rookie drivers in a second IMCA division will receive contingency awards from Performance Bodies this season.

Already primary sponsor for IMCA's Hobby Stock division and its first-year competitors, the Cedar Falls race car body manufacturer and parts retailer will award a spruce up special, which includes two doors and two quarter panels valued at $199, to the rookie of the year in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod class.

Top 10 finishers in Northern SportMod national point standings will also receive their choice of a $100 product certificate or the spruce up special.

"With the first season of SportMod racing behind us, we can now officially award a rookie of the year in that division, and Performance Bodies is a natural fit," IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "Combine that with their focus on the top 10 finishers in final points and Northern SportMod racers will benefit greatly from the association with Performance Bodies."

More than $14,000 in contingency awards will given by Performance Bodies to drivers in the Modified, Late Model, Stock Car and Hobby Stock divisions.

The top five drivers in point standings and the top three rookies for each of the five Modified regions will receive a spruce up special or $100 product certificate. Modified drivers are required to display two Performance Bodies decals in designated locations on their race cars to be eligible.

Top 10 finishers in the Deery Brothers Summer Series, both Stock Car regions and the national Hobby Stock standings all get nose-piece and headlight decal kits, as do both the national Stock Car and Hobby Stock rookies of the year.

Registration forms for Northern SportMod and Hobby Stock rookies will be published in the point section of the monthly Inside IMCA newsletter. The deadline for returning signed forms to the IMCA home office is Aug. 1.

Information about Performance Bodies products is available at the www.performancebodies.com website or by calling 800 722-4641.

"Last season, Modified drivers did not have the spruce up special option like they do this year and that alone could double the value of their contingency prize," Yoder said. "Add that to the variety of nose pieces available to our other divisions and there will be few organizations that award as much sheer product to IMCA racers as Performance Bodies will in 2006."
