IMCA to administer Hawkeye Dirt Tour next season

VINTON, Iowa (December 21, 2011) - IMCA has reached a mutual agreement with series founder Bucky Doren to administer the Hawkeye Dirt Tour next season.

Doren will continue as series director and attend as many events as possible. IMCA officials will head pre and postrace tech inspection at each series date. The sanctioning organization will also oversee contingency awards, as well as the point fund for the series.

The 2012 IMCA Modified series schedule will be announced in early January. All features will pay a minimum of $1,000 to win and be Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying events.

“This has been an extremely successful tour in its first two seasons and there is considerable potential for even more growth,” said IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “The drawback is that more races at more tracks makes it difficult for Bucky to balance all the responsibilities of the tour with his regular job.”

“We’re glad to have Bucky back with the series next year,” added Root. “We want to make the transition as efficient as possible.”

“My main job has evolved quite a lot over the past 12 months and it continues to do so. That has made it tough for me to do everything I wanted to do to help the HDT grow,” Doren commented. “After talking with IMCA, we found a way for the tour to continue to evolve. I’m also happy that I can still be a part of the HDT history as it is written.”

Tracks on the Hawkeye Dirt Tour schedule in 2010 and/or 2011 will be given the first opportunity to secure series dates next season.

In addition to special series points, Allstar Performance State, ButlerBuilt North Central Region and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national points will be awarded at all tour events.

Local track points will also be awarded for designated tour races.
