Lebanon Midway To Host O'Reilly MLRA Event
by: Ronnie Williams

Lebanon, Mo. (Jan. 29, 2006) - Trade shows in the off season seem to bring out the strong hand of the Lebanon Midway Speedway as the track will host the O'Reilly Auto Parts Super Late Models again in 2006 on Friday Night June 16th.

Track Owner Harold Armstrong and MLRA Owners Harriett and Alan"Cowboy" Chancellor inked the deal while at the Bodees Trade Show and Auction on Sat.

"I didn't realize just how much the MLRA drivers enjoyed there 2 visits to the Midway last season" said Midway Owner Harold Armstrong. Drivers such as trade show host Jason Bodenhamer and MLRA champion Al Purkey plus several others seen the Midway Booth and wondered why Midway wasn't on the MLRA Schedule.

Last season the track hosted 2 MLRA events with Al Purkey capturing the 1st visit and Alan Vaughn grabbed win number 2 in Aug.

"We tried these on Sat Nights last season and it just didn't work out even with the great racing they provided." quoted Armstrong, but those drivers really enjoyed themselves and the interest was there,so we will attempt this on a regular race night for the Midway on a Friday Night and rework our schedule abit.

The revamping of the schedule will see the track host a double points night on Friday Night June 9th for there normal classes and the Winged Sprint Car Challange will be moved to Friday Night July 14th.

Track announcer Ron Williams said that the sponsor for the Sprint Car Challange had asked if the track could maybe moved the date back some just last week, and this will provide the perfect chance as the Speedway will be hosting Kenny Wallace night on a Thursday Night Thunder special with the Modified racing for $1000 to win and 100 to start on June 8th along with Fastrak Late Models Vs. Show-Me Racin Series Late Models and Bombers.

There will be 3 support classes to run with the O'Reilly MLRA Super Late Models on June 16th as extra purse money will be up for grabs along with Bonus points for the support classes
