Awards Banquet from Buena Vista Raceway Saturday January 28th.

Alta, Iowa (Jan. 29, 2006) - Warm spring like weather greeted the near capacity crowd this past Saturday night at the Alta Community Building as race fans, sponsors and drivers put the final touches on the 2005 racing season at the Buena Vista Raceway.

“It’s always fun to see all of our racing friends again after a long winter, but with the weather like this many of us would just as soon be out on the track racing,” committed promoter Becky Meyer.

The evening started out with an invocation by Chief Starter Toby Kruse. After the specially prepared Prime Rib meal, it now was time to meet the 2005 drivers once again and award them for their accomplishments. Lee Meyer started the awards presentations off by saying thank you to all of the drivers and teams that made the season possible.

Many class sponsors and supporters were also on hand to offer their congratulations. Promoters Lee and Becky handed out special employee awards to, Janet Meyer, Randy Robbins, Doug Sverdsen and Kay Schurke for their continued work at the raceway.

The first race night of the year is planned for Friday night March 31st with the Frost Buster Special.
