Blozovich, Fullenkamp, Hughes and Becerra all pickup wins at Bloomfield Speedway

BLOOMFIELD, IOWA (April 19, 2014) – Mountain-Dew Bloomfield Speedway seen 59 entries checked in for four exciting classes sponsored by Mountain-Dew Kick-Start night at the races. The featured classe was the Mike’s Tire & Alignment Sport Mods racing for $500 to win.
In the Kirkland Auto Hobby stock division a exciting battle between Dane Blozovick of Exline and Nick Ulin of Agency who went wheel-to-wheel for ten laps with Blozovich scoring his first at Bloomfield but second of the season. Ulin who once again came close but settled for another runner-up spot. Jason See of Albia took home third and Ben Grove of Eldon raced his way from twelfth starting spot to finish in fourth.
The Kollison Korner Sport Compacts would see two drivers battle it out with Austin Becerra of Carthange, Illinois and last week’s winner Kassidy Kirkpatrick of Ottumwa battling for all fourteen laps with good close racing. Becerra made the long trip pay off for him soring the win and fourth of the season. Kirkpatrick took second and Larry Hopkins of Ottumwa taking third. The hard charger of the night Trent Orwig of Blakesburg would race his way from the fourteenth starting spot to finish fourth and get a extra $50.00 for his effort. This was donated from a fan in the stands before the night started and extra $100 was donated by a 16 year old who was celebrating her birthday.
The Taylor Automotive Stock cars saw Mike Hughes of Oskaloosa take the win holding off several challenges and a couple cautions that closed the field but Hughes was to strong with Nathan Wood’s backup car and it’s for sale. The runner-up spot went to Derrick Agee of Huntsville, Mo. And Louis Lynch had a nice run to take third and veteran driver Jerry Pilcher in fourth.
The final feature was the eighteen lap main event paying $500 with five different drivers leading laps in the Mike’s Tire & Alignment feature. Jared Miller of Bloomfield looked to be the class of the field leading thirteen of the eighteen before a motor problem would end his run. Brandon Dale of Gorin, Mo. Looked to be a repeat winner but a left rear wheel was packed full of mud causing a very bad vibration and he went into the work area. This would turn the lead over to Ryan Fullenkamp of Bloomfield and he would hold off several challenges from Jason McDaniel of Eldon. McDaniel would lead the seventeenth lap and the two would battle side-by-side on the final lap with six inches decidinding the victory at the finish line with Fullenkamp taking the win. McDaniel in second and Jim Walker of Mystic starting twelveth and taking third. The fourth spot went to Adam Shelman of Ames who took the fourth spot.
Racing action this week will move to Friday night April 25th with Pepsi-Cola Memphis Bottling USMTS racing for $2000 and the Ironman USRA stock cars gunning for $750 and USRA B-Mods racing for $600 with hot laps at 7pm and racing action at 7:30PM.
