OVER $100,000 ON THE LINE THIS WEEK AT MARSHALLTOWN SPEEDWAY FOR THE 8TH ANNUAL WORLD NATIONALS

–  All eyes are focused on the famed ¼ mile high banked clay oval celebrating the 50th Anniversary this week.  Marshalltown Speedway will play host to the 8th Annual World Nationals paying $10,000 to the Modified victor courtesy of World Products, PBM, and Erson Cams.

The week will get kicked off with an open practice from 7-9 on Thursday night.  The practice will be followed by live music and free pulled pork sandwiches courtesy of Cookies BBQ Sauce.  On Friday, the IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Stock Cars will see a complete show with heats, “B”s, and Feature events.

The Modifieds will run 10 qualifying heat races early on and then another set with an inverted lineup from their first heat race.  The drivers will be awarded points for their finish in both heats as well as passing points.

The top ten in points after Friday will be locked into Saturday’s 50 lap Feature event.  On Saturday, the IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Stock Cars will run another complete show.

The Modifieds will run last chance races and the Final Four event based on points from Friday night.

The Modified feature will see 24 cars taking the green flag in the 50 lap event with no stops.  The Modifieds will be the only division where crate motors are not allowed.  The IMCA Hobby Stocks will be racing for a $500 top prize on both nights and it will be $1,000 to win for the IMCA SportMods and IMCA Stock Cars for both shows.

There is camping available at the track for $15.00 per night, reservations are recommended and all campers must check in at the track ticket office.

For those not able to attend, the event will be broadcast live on Speed Shift TV for just $35 for the weekend or $20 per night.  Ticket prices for the pits will be $10 on Thursday, $25 on Friday, and $30 on Saturday.

The grandstand prices will be free on Thursday, $12 on Friday, $15 on Saturday and children 11 and under will be $5 on both race nights.  The only night for hot laps will be on Thursday from 7-9 with racing getting underway on Friday and Saturday at 6:30.  For further information, check out www.marshalltownspeedway.com, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter.
