Saturday’s program at Lucas Oil Speedway rained out; Open Wheel Showdown next up

| April 29, 2017

Wheatland, Missouri (April 29, 2017) – For the second straight week, rain has prevailed as Saturday’s scheduled Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series program at Lucas Oil Speedway has been canceled.

“We were very fortunate in 2016 with no rainouts of our weekly racing,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. “Unfortunately, with an outdoor sport, you’re at the mercy of the elements and we’ve simply had too much rain with the forecast of a lot more on the way.

“We’ll look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday (May 6) with the Impact Signs Awnings & Wraps Open Wheel Showdown and then welcome back our Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series on May 13.”

The 6th annual Impact Signs, Awnings and Wraps Open Wheel Showdown is the first big open-wheel program of the season. The tripleheader of action features the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region Winged Sprint Cars Presented by Impact Signs Awnings & Wraps along with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region Winged Sprint Cars; the Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprint Cars and the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series.

The first 300 kids through the gates next Saturday will receive checkered flags, courtesy of Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:35. Some suites remain available along with grandstand seating. Contact admissions direction Nichole McMillan at (417) 282-5984 or email Nichole@lucasspeedway.com for more information.
