Shirley Dominates for Peoria Speedway DIRTcar Summer Nationals Victory

PEORIA, Ill. (July 2, 2012) – Brian Shirley of Chatham, Ill., cruised to his third ‘Hell Tour’ win Monday night at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway. Shirley dominated from flag-to-flag picking up the $5,000 top prize on the tour’s 17th stop.

Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., drove to a second place finish ahead of defending champion Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill. Babb started outside of current point leader Shirley in the 40-lap main event and wound up third in the final rundown. Scott James of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Billy Drake of Bloomington, Ill., rounded out the top five.

The tour returns to action Tuesday night at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway for a $5,000-to-win event.
