Title sponsor EMI gives big financial boost to growing IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car division

| February 2, 2016

LINCOLN, Neb. – Division title sponsor EMI provides a portion of the point fund to be paid out to top 10 drivers in national IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car point standings for a fourth consecutive season.

The Lincoln, Neb., chassis manufacturer and high performance parts retailer took on the sponsorship role in 2013 and has been instrumental in the growth of the class.

“RaceSaver is the fastest growing division of Sprint Car racing,” said Mike Long of EMI. “It’s a testament to the professionalism and structure IMCA presents in all of its classes. Our team is very proud to support this effort.”

IMCA crowned a division record 14 track and 13 series champions last season. New IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing track and RaceSaver Series sanctions are already set in California, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

In addition to part of an increased $5,000 national point fund, EMI will again give $100 gift cards to all track and series champions in 2016. Point fund shares and gift cards will be distributed during the national awards banquet in November or mailed from the IMCA home office beginning the next week.

The national rookie of the year earns a chassis kit; drivers must display two EMI decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund money or contingencies.

Chad Wilson of North Richland Hills, Texas, won the 2015 EMI IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car national championship. National rookie of the year was Colin Smith of Sheldon, Iowa.

“We’ve really seen an explosion in IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car racing over the course of the past several seasons and Eagle Motorsports has really helped spearhead that effort,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “As we head into 2016, a rebranded EMI will continue to help us lead the way and we’re going to have a record year that will continue to shape the future of weekly Sprint Car racing in America.”
