126 cars in competition at I-35 Speedway

| June 1, 2025

WINSTON, MO (May 31, 2025) – Another action-packed night at I-35 Speedway passed by, and with 126 cars in competition, it was an exciting night of racing. A grandstand full of fans and a track that was raved on by numerous drivers!

E-Mods got the action started and a wild last corner would lead to Peyton Baker winning the feature. Chance Brune would come home first runner-up, while the dominant car of the night, the 08 of Nathan Hampton, would come home third. Behind him Chester Kauffman and Blake Peeler would round out the top 5.

Brad Mick continued his dominance in the Sport Compacts, with some lap traffic slowing down the leader, Grant Sheetz. Mick would use the lap car to pass the 64, with Alvin Cooney, Ryan Hinkle, and JR Curtis following them home.

In the Late Models Tyler Hibner would go from row three to the feature win after a great battle against Paul Glendenning. The number 33 would come home second, followed by Chad Walter, Jon Binning, and Tommy Cordray.

Jakub Hisel would dominate the Pure Stock feature on the way to another win here at I-35. James Silkwood would contend throughout the night and come home second, with CJ Turner, Conrad Kauffman, and outside pole sitter Shaun Wirtz rounding out the top 5.

Next up on track was our special of the night, the Show Me Vintage Racing Series. Twenty-two drivers would wheel their blasts from the past racecars around I-35 Speedway. Bringing home the win would be Jim Thorne, followed by Chad Eickleberry, who started dead last but cut through the field to contend for the win. Bob Werkmeister also started deep in the field and came home with a podium, while Owen Evinger and Dan Schmidt round out the top 5.

Ethan Isaacs would dominate the USRA B-Mods, getting around last week’s feature winner Rylan Gibbs early, then setting sail. Gibbs would hold on to second, with Tim Eaton, Ethan Young, and Lonnie Hibner following him home.

The USRA Stock Cars put on a show once again, with drivers going five wide down the backstretch during final lap of the second heat. The feature would not disappoint either, with Rodney Schweizer and Kristchon Hisel battling side-by-side for the lead. Schweizer had a great car, but the Hisel’s would bat 1.000 on the night. Jeff Dixon, Clayton Brown, and Jayden Bears rounded out the top five.

It was the usual suspects in the USRA Modifieds battling for the win, minus the 99H of Lee Hibner after trouble early ended his night. Houston Johnson would get out to an early lead, while Tyler Hibner would reel him in slowly but surely throughout the race. With under five laps to go Hibner would make his move to the inside of Johnson’s #97 but got loose under him in one and spun out. The drivers were so spaced out from a long green flag run we would stay green, with Johnson winning by nearly half a lap. Brad Johnson would follow the # 97 racing machine home, Hibner would recover to third, pole sitter Jimmie Dowell fourth, and Kenny Nutter rounding out the top five.
The Junior Sport Compacts would be I-35’s nightcap, with an all-girl field. Rylie Robb would pull away in the 48R from the 21JC of Hallie Waters for the win, while Leah Whitt and Misty Teal round out the field.

Thank you for joining us for another night of racing this season at I-35 Speedway. A massive thank you to every official, crew member, sponsor, driver, and fan for making it all possible. Full results and points posted on Facebook and our website, and we’ll see you all next Saturday Night!
