| June 28, 2025

Columbus Junction, Iowa (June 27, 2025) – Following two consecutive rain outs the CJ Speedway located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds returned to action as Patriot Fireworks sponsored the night and concluded the night with a fabulous Fireworks display.

John Oliver Jr continued his mastery of the 4/10 mile dirt track by scoring another win as he continues his pursuit of the IMCA Stock Car National Championship. Oliver Jr. started deep in the Mincer Ford IMCA Stock Car feature field and steadily worked his way to the front moving by early race leader Luke Phillips. Oliver went on to score an impressive win as the battle for second was hotly contested. Dustin Griffiths recovered from a first lap flat tire and raced through the field to finish second ahead of Adam Bell.

Dylan VanWyk has been so dominant in the Aupp Automotive IMCA Sportmod class that the CJ Speedway has put a bounty on his head. The Bonus money was $350 on Friday night and will now grow to $450 as the “Lil Speedster” from Oskaloosa scored his fifth feature win in a row on Friday night. Van Wyk took the green in the main event in the 9th position and shot to the front taking the lead as he raced down the back chute on lap number two. Van Wyk went on to score a comfortable win ahead of Levi Laymon and Trey Rock ran a very strong race finishing in third.

First time winner Kyler Burmeister raced to his first ever feature win in the CJ Auto Parts NAPA Store IMCA Hobby Stock class on Friday night. Burmeister assumed the point position after a caution flew that involved the two front runners. Burmeister emerged from a pack of contenders and raced to the win ahead of Keaton Gordon and Jason Schutterle.

The Stewart & Sons Fuel IMCA Modified feature saw infrequent CJ racer, Josh Foster score his first win of the 2025 season at the CJ Speedway. Foster led flag to flag from his front row start racing under the checkers ahead of Logan Anderson and Kurt Kile.

The Kemper Trucking Mini Haulers made their second appearance of 2025 to the CJ Speedway with a field of 11 trucks taking part in the race program. Of the 11 competitors on hand 10 of the trucks race out of Wapello. When the checkers flew it was Brett Timmerman making his way to the Larry Richardson Victory Lane. Brett took the checkers by a truck bed length ahead of Brian Tipps and the elder of the Timmerman’s, Lyle took third.

The CJ Speedway will host a special night of racing on Friday, July 4th as Kemper Trucking will be sponsoring the night which will include a couple of big paying races. The Stewart & Sons Fuel IMCA Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win plus the Aupp Automotive IMCA Sportmods will race for a possible $1,450 which would include bounty money.
