Maquoketa, Iowa: (June 28, 2025) – Racing went on as scheduled on a very warm night at the Maquoketa Speedway on Timber City night presented by Oly’s Garage. Nearly 120 race cars packed the infield for another action packed night of racing on the Quick ¼ mile located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

Andrew Chelf of nearby Lost Nation has won many Hobby Stock races at his home track but Saturday night was his first ever win in the very tough QCJeeps.com IMCA Stock Cars. Chelf drove the bottom side of the track to perfection on Saturday night in holding off a host of challengers. Maquoketa Speedway veteran, Jerry Miles drove the top side and was in contention late in the race but settled for second behind the smooth running Chelf. Gage Neal, back in his familiar 12N closed in on the leaders in the late stage of the main and settled for third at the checkers.

The INEX Legends ran a special Midwest Dirt Legends Series Race on Saturday night and 32 competitors from several states were on hand to race for the expanded purse. The 20 lap feature saw the lead position dominated by North Dakota driver Preston Martin. Unfortunately Martin slipped off the track as the field came to the white and slipped well back in the finishing order. Beaver Dam, Wisconsin driver Hayden Schmuhl was able to hold the bottom line and race to a very close win ahead of Maquoketa Speedway regular Michael Weber. Ryan Sullivan came under the checkers in third.

The Kinion Auto Sales IMCA Late Models brought the night to an end with a great 25 lap feature. Jake Morris drove his number 86 Late Model to a hard fought win holding off the many challenges by Bryce Garnhart. Morris held the bottom line and Garnhart drove the treacherous top side as the two raced side by side for the win. Morris took the win by less than a car length. Dave Hammond drove a great race in following Garnhart across the stripe in third.

The Eastern Iowa Overhead Door IMCA Modifieds started off the feature portion of the program with a very clean caution free 20 lap main event. Jaden Fryer worked to the front from his 9th position start and was able to get by race long leader Austin Stamm with less than five laps to go. Stamm in his rookie IMCA Modified season settled for second ahead of Mitch Way.

The Amhof Trucking IMCA Modified feature went to home towner Jarett Franzen. Franzen used a late race restart to move past race leader Nathan Silaggi, and went on to score the win, Franzen was very fortunate the race was not one lap longer as he broke a suspension part after taking the checkers and his machine had to be wreckered to the pit area. Josh Starr was able to make a late race charge and nipped Silaggi for second at the finish line.

The Not Quite Done Yet BBQ IMCA Hobby Stocks entertained the fans with another main event that saw plenty of lead changes and cars battling in packs and racing three and four wide throughout the main event. When the checkers flew it was Jordan Miles making his way to Oly’s Garage victory lane after holding off Carson Butt for the win. Lane Vohringer drove his Mopar to a third place finish.

The McMahon Salvage 4 stock win went to Travis Hawkins on Saturday night. Hawkins drove his sharp looking number 8 to the win ahead of Zach Pappas and Jacob Welter.

The Maquoketa Speedway will remain silent the next two Saturday’s as no racing will be held July 5th or 12th. The next event will be Christmas in July on Saturday the 19th with a full program of racing action, hot laps will take to the ¼ mile at 5:45pm with racing to follow.
