Maquoketa, Iowa (May 31, 2025) – Arnold Motor Supply sponsored Saturday nights racing program at the Maquoketa Speedway which hosted another outstanding night of racing with nearly 120 drivers taking part in the race program. The large crowd in attendance were treated to a night which saw first time winners and close finishes in many of the main events with a very swift run race program which saw the final checkered flag of the night wave at 9:45 pm.

The Kinion Auto Sales IMCA Late Models saw a strong field of 16 drivers take the green for their 25 lap feature event. When the checkered flag flew it was Silvis, Illinois driver Jesse Bodin capping off a very memorable day by capturing the win. Bodin crossed the stage earlier in the day picking up his diploma as a 2025 High School graduate. Bodin put an exclamation point on a perfect day by leading the 25 lap feature flag to flag. Bodin drove a perfect race in driving the treacherous high line of the perfectly groomed track to the win ahead of Don Pataska and Jake Morris advanced from a third row start to take third.

The Eastern Iowa Overhead Door IMCA Modified feature was one of several races decided at the finish line by a slim margin on Saturday night. Jaden Fryer worked to the front from a 8th position start to take the lead from Brandon Jewell on lap ten and appeared to be on his way to his second consecutive win, but Shane Paris had other ideas. Paris made a last lap charge that saw the leaders take the white flag side by side. Paris was able to hit his marks on the last lap and was able to get to the checkers a couple feet ahead of Fryer for the win. Eric Barnes ran up front the entire race and finished a very close third on Saturday night.

In the QCJeeps.com IMCA Stock Cars it was Anamosa driver Gage Neal scoring his first win of the season at the Maquoketa Speedway. Neal worked the entire track on his way to the front from a 4th row start and was able to score the Arnolds Motor Supply night win ahead of Andrew Burk, who advanced from the sixth row with Kodey Miles crossing under the checkers in third.

Possibly the race of the night was the Amhof Trucking IMCA Sportmods, 17 drivers took the green and the racing throughout the main event was very intense. Patric Conner led the race early but was not able to distance himself from the pack as several drivers took turns challenging Conner. The last several laps of the main set up a challenge between Levi Heath, Conner and Jarrett Franzen. A near dead heat for the lead at the white flag set up a fantastic final lap. Conner raced the high line through the final turns and Heath worked the low side. At the finish line it was Conner scoring his first ever win by a margin of .061 seconds. It is always special to witness a first time winner and Conner has been knocking on the door, his first win is now in the books. Heath finished second ahead of Franzen in a spectacular race.

The Not Quite Done Yet BBQ IMCA Hobby Stocks saw another great field of 23 drivers take the initial green in their main event. The Hobby Stocks also saw another first time ever occurrence as the Vohringer Brothers ran first and second for the first time in their racing careers. Kile turned his season around by winning the main a week earlier and he came back and scored his second win of the season in back to back weeks. Kile’s win was extra sweet as his brother Lane was able to work through traffic to take second ahead of Kodey Miles.

15 year old Zachary Pappas joined the list of winners, by scoring his first ever win in the McMahon Salvage 4 cylinder division. Pappas held off Jacob Welter in the early going and later in the main held off the constant challenges by Travis Hawkins. The young Pappas was not rattled by Hawkins and held his line to perfection in taking the win over Hawkins and Dustin Munn.

Legends Direct driver Michael Weber raced all over the smooth track on Saturday night and scored the win INEX Legends main event. Weber raced to the front from a fifth row start and took the win ahead of Cody Moline and Parker Jones. In the qualifying action in the Legends, Dave Eberle rode out a nasty flip barrel rolling his car at least ten times. Eberle was uninjured in the incident.

Next up at the Maquoketa Speedway will be the annual running of the Del Gade Memorial Race featuring the cars and drivers of the A.I.R.S Series. June 7th will also include a full program of IMCA racing in the Late Models, Modifieds, Stock Cars, Sportmods, Hobby Stocks, the 4 cylinders will also be on the card. Hot laps will take to the quick ΒΌ mile at 5:45 with racing to follow.
