24 RACEWAY YIELDS TO WEATHER, BUT SATURDAY'S CAR SHOW IS STILL
ON AT THE MOBERLY TRACK
by: Ron Lueck - Track Spokesman
MOBERLY, MO. (April 6) - 24 Raceway tried to hold out as long as possible for
this weekend, but opening night finally had to yield to the cold weather, just
as almost every other outdoor racing event in Missouri and Iowa did. Cold
beverages, cold toes and fingers were planned, but finally we had to throw in
the same towel as the other tracks already had done.
The 2nd annual Show & Shine Car Show will however, proceed as scheduled at the
track grounds on Highway 24, east of Moberly, with a dash plaque and tee shirt
for the first 50 entrants, and with plenty of give-aways drawn throughout the
day.
Entry fee is $15 and the show will run from 10AM to 3PM, with racecars included,
in the grass area on the south part of the track's 46 acre site, near the middle
entrance off US Highway 24. Any questions regarding this car show, hosted by the
Mid-Mo Cruisers Car Club, can be answered by Rob Wailes at 660-676-8268 or Jim
Hazlett at 660-888-3166.
There will be hot chocolate, Pepsi products and coffee available, along with
grilled 'dogs and 'burgers at the front building, near the highway. After the
car show closes at 3, the track will be available to qualified drivers of all
classes for some practice laps for those who need some seat time, but only until
6PM at the very latest. The cost for this test & tune will be a $10 admission
per person entering the pit area and a signed release will be mandatory.
Track Force will not be present for fuel purchases, so plan accordingly.
The phone no. for info on this again is 660-269-9300 at the track, or visit the
website of www.24racewayinmoberly.com for more info.
Five regular classes of stock car racing will take place each Saturday nite thru
Oct 6, with the various specials listed on the schedule, and with "Dirt Track
Racing at its Best&qu©‡
Nat 24 Raceway in Moberly.
