BLOOMFIELD, Ia (Dec 6) - Per the recommendation of the race committee, the Davis County Fairboard, at their regular meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 5, voted unanimously to select Ron and Jerry Potts, of R & J Promotions, as promoters for the 2008 racing season. Details of sanctioning, rules, etc. are yet to be announced. Present plans are to continue the traditional classes with bi-weekly appearances of the 305 winged sprint cars. The Junior Fan Club will be returning, along with other special events. Season opening is planned for mid-April, concluding in early September.

(Nov. 27) - The Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Mo., will have new owners for the 2008 racing season as Lebanon businessmen Jack Jones and Tony Jackson Jr. have purchased the speedway from Harold Armstrong. The new owners will keep the action going on Friday nights, and will sanction their Modified division with the United States Racing Association (USRA).

BURLINGTON, IA (Nov. 05) - A rules meeting for the 2008 racing season has been set for Monday, Nov. 12 for 305 sprints and hobby stocks. The meeting will be held at Turn 2 Restaurant in Mediapolis. The meeting for sprint cars will be at 6:00 followed by the meeting for hobby stocks at 7:15. This is an informational meeting to discuss upcoming rules changes for the 2008 racing season.

CRESCO, Iowa (Oct 12) - The roar of engines filled the air at the Mighty Howard County Fairgrounds for a second straight night Friday, as the Cresco Speedway hosted the inaugural Cresco USRA Nationals.

Here's Veteran, Bobby Hawks running Randy Plaths 305 Sprinter @ 34 Raceways, as he won his last Feature event of his career. Bobby has retired from Sprint Car racing, and had an eye injury last month, and will have surgery on the 18th of October, 2007. Hawks, is still active in racing and helping several drivers with his knowledge and super smooth driving style, that set him apart as one of the very best the Midwest has ever seen.
