MACON SPEEDWAY THIS WEEK – KIDS NIGHT PLUS FAST FIVE RACER APPRECIATION SERIES – RACE II

MACON, IL (May 22) - Kids will be the stars on Saturday night, May 26 when Macon hosts Kids Night featuring Quacky the Clown and Box Car Races. Kids started work on their cars during the Kids Club meeting last Saturday night and will complete the projects this week in time to race during intermission. Quacky the Clown will be on hand to add to the fun.

Hogan Grain/Kubota Sportsman racers will be geared up for a special $500 to win purse plus a qualified spot in the Springfield Mile Sportsman race to be held in August. This race is the second in the FAST FIVE Racer Appreciation Series that highlights all five divisions at Macon Speedway.

On Saturday, May 26, gates at Macon Speedway will open at 5:00 PM. Racing starts at 7:00. Kids Club meets this Saturday at 6:00 PM. General Admission is $10.00 for weekly races at Macon Speedway. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $25. Full season reserved seats are still available. Contact the Speedway at 217-764-3000 for more information.

Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2007 is the addition of the C.A.R.S. Late Models.

Monday, May 28: NASCAR Stars Ken Schrader, Clint Bowyer, All-Star Race Winner Kevin Harvick and All-Star Fan Choice Kenny Wallace will be at Macon Speedway. All seats are reserved. Adults are $25, children 12 and under $5. Gates open at 3:00 PM. An autograph session takes place from 4:30 to 5:30 PM on a first-come, first-serve basis. Racing starts at 6:30 PM.

June 2 is the Barbeck Communications Modified Bonanza offering a top prize of $1500 as part of the FAST FIVE Racer Appreciation Series. The second of Kenny’s Crazy Car Caper car give-aways will take place courtesy of Decatur Used Cars.

June 9 is the Lite Beer Twin-50’s featuring two UMP Late Model features, twice the points and twice the purse.

NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and local Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
