In I.M.C.A. Late Model action, Ely, Iowa's Terry Neal needs only to start his feature race to clinch his second track championship at the Davenport Speedway. Second is Davenport's Matt Ryan, 32 points back. Third place in points is a real dogfight with Andy Nezworski, Mike Murphy Jr., and Fred Remley, separated by only seven points.

Moline's Thad Wilson is leading in track points in the V-8 Modified class. Wilson has six feature wins on the season and also needs only to start the feature to clinch the track championship. Kevin Blum of Colona is second in points and has four feature wins in 2007.

Brad Tyler of Moscow, Iowa is a top the Street Stock points. Tyler has three feature wins this year and holds a 26-point lead over Orion's Henry Carson. Kevin Schloemer of Davenport, is a distant third, but still has a shot at the crown.

Davenport's Craig Peekenschneider has already clinched at least a tie for the INEX Legend Car track championship. Keith Meyer of Cedar Rapids, is a distant second in points with Rock Island's Darrick Calhoun third.

The 4 Cylinder Stock class has Ricky Kay of Wheatland leading Stockton's Steve Boyle by 18 points going into the final night. Kay has four feature wins on the season, while Boyle is still looking for his first.

Stock car racing action begins at 6:30pm, Friday night at the Davenport Speedway.

Post-season racing action at the Davenport Speedway begins Friday, September 7th, with the running of the Davenport Dirt Classic.
