Fulp Wins at Nevada

NEVADA, MO (Aug 11) - The Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series was back in action in Nevada, MO at Nevada Raceway on Saturday August 11. Fans piled in on an extremely hot night to see some of the best racing action around. In the end the 00 of Jim Fulp would come away with the win. Heats started off the night. The 113 of Rick Wallis came away with heat one win. The second heat was won by the 00 of Jim Fulp. Kevin Henson in the 15 took heat three.

All twenty-three cars transferred to the A main. The 83 of Chuck Comer and the 60 of Darrin Barton set the pace and the race was off. Everyone was about in the same position they started when the first caution was thrown. Another lap was made before the second caution was thrown for the 98 of Ken Patterson in turn two. Some cars were falling back while others were advancing fast through the field of cars.

The 56 of Conner Ward had taken over the lead and was trying to pull away. The 10 of Billy Humble spun in turn one bringing out caution 3. The 56 of Ward was in the lead holding off the 83 of Comer and the 5e of Leslie Essary. Darrin Barton in the 60 was holding strong in the fourth position but he had the 15 of Kevin Henson vying for that spot.

The boys lined back up and it was off to racing again. On the restart the 5e managed to pass the 83 and was coming hard and fast for the number one position. Ward and Leslie Essary were racing on every inch of the track for the top spot, while the 00 of Fulp and the 83 of Comer were neck to neck for the third position. On lap fourteen the 56 and the 98 tangled in turn two bringing out another caution.

Leslie Essary would lead the pack to the start. The 00 of Jim Fulp and 29 of Chris Powell began moving quickly through the field on the high side of the track. By lap seventeen both entered the top five and were advancing for the top spots. Lap eighteen brought out a caution for the 31 of Ron Johnson. The 5e, 00, 60, 83, and 29 made up the top five on the restart. One lap passed before the sixth caution, everyone was going for the position in front of them.

The yellow light was turned off and it was back to the battle. Two laps later the 83 of Comer brought out the final caution of the night. Three laps to go before the checkered would fly. With only two laps left the 00 got a run and passed the 5e making him settle for second. The 00 of Fulp, the 5e of Leslie Essary, the 55 of Ken Essary, the 29 of Chris Powell, and the 60 of Darrin Barton made up your top five.
