TWO NIGHTS OF RACING AT HAWKEYE DOWNS NEXT WEEK
“DIRT AT THE DOWNS” AND MINI-VAN RACING FEATURED

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA  (July 31) - Race fans won’t want to miss all the action at ASA- Sanctioned Hawkeye Downs Speedway next week with two big nights of racing on the schedule.

On Wednesday night, August 8 the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series featuring IMCA Dirt Late Models rolls into Cedar Rapids for their annual visit known as “IMCA Dirt at the ‘Downs.”

In addition to the Dirt Late Models, the Miller Time Modifieds, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and IMCA Sportmods will be on the card.

On Friday night, August 10 it’s Van Meter Industrial Employee Appreciation Night and also ‘Big Kids Helping Little Kids’ Charity Night featuring such activities as a Candy and Nickel dash, and special giveaways for kids.

In addition, Hawkeye Downs, Papa Johns Pizza, and Hy-Vee will be donating a portion of sales to the event which is held to benefit the Marion-East Cedar Rapids Rotary Club and its charities such as Shoes For Kids and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Drivers are also chipping in by donating all or some of their winnings for the night as well.

Seven divisions of racing are on the card with Mini-Van racing joining the Performance Concepts Late Models, Miller Time Modifieds, Budweiser Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, Sunline Hornets, and IMCA Sportmods.
