SEVEN DIVISIONS IN ACTION THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT HAWKEYE DOWNS 
SPEEDWAY DOUBLE PURSE FOR SPORTMODS, LATE MODELS RETURN

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (July 10) - Race fans will be treated to a full night of racing 
this Friday night at ASA-Sanctioned Hawkeye Downs Speedway on Zimmerman 
Ford night.
The Performance Concepts Late Models return to the schedule and will join the 
Miller Time Modifieds, Budweiser Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, 
Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and IMCA Sportmods.
Hawkeye Downs has offered an invitation to area IMCA Sportmod drivers that 
haven’t yet tried the asphalt. If eight cars show up the normal purse will 
be doubled with the winner taking home $350. With twelve or more cars Hawkeye 
Downs will add $100 to each of the first five finishers meaning the winner will
take home $450. Car registration is also waived for any competitors for the 
first night that they race.
Taking a look at the Papa Johns Cup/I-Wireless Championship point standings, 
Dave McCalla holds a nine point edge over Andy Duggan in Budweiser 
Sportsmen after racking up nine wins so far this season. Bob Ahrendsen is in 
third, eighteen points behind the leader.
The point race remains tight in the Miller Time Modifieds as Tim Plummer has a 
two-point lead over Chad Willett. Both drivers have three trips 
to Coca-Cola Victory Lane to their credit. Arlo Becker remains in the thick of 
the race as well, just five markers back.
In Performance Concepts Late Models, Dudley Fleck holds the lead with a five 
point spread over Griffin McGrath. Fleck has won both features run this 
season. Ken Reiser is six points behind Fleck in third.
Moving to the quarter-mile, Bob Ahrendsen continues to hold a four point edge on 
Logan Hale in the Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars. Kurt 
Bohnsack is seven points behind Ahrendsen and sits in third.
In the Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks Tim Dains still holds a sizable 
lead over Rodney Grother as ten points separate the two. Dennis Klinsky 
is next in line, eleven points behind Dains.
Teammates Brian Beaty and Shaun Myers are tied atop the chart in the Sunline 
Hornets each with 264 points. Brad Chandler is currently in third, ten 
points back.
Finally, in IMCA Sportmods, Tony Olson leads the pack and sits two points in 
front of Arnie Reif. Ryan Luedtke is six points behind the leader in 
third.
Grandstand Gates open and Practice begins at 6pm with Racing at 7pm. Children 
(0-11) are $1.00; Students (12-17) are $7.00; Adults (18-61) are 
$10.00; and Senior Citizens (62+) are admitted for $7.00.
