Craig Mintz Joins O’Reilly All Star Rookie of the Year Chase

CAMARGO, IL (Jan. 26, 2007) -  The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions would like to welcome Craig Mintz as the latest contender for the 2007 Rookie of the Year award with the series. Craig announced last winter that he would throw his hat into the ring in 2006, but last minute changes within the team forced them to sit out another year and continue to run locally and prepare for making a run at it in 2007.

Craig used the past season to fine tune his skills at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park and made many appearances with the All Stars during Ohio Sprint Speedweek, but missed the final night due to a sudden illness of one of the team members. Craig was anxious to tackle the high banks of Eldora Speedway at the end of 2006, but heavy rains kept him from making his debut on the monster ½ mile. He will get several more opportunities in 2007 when the All Stars visit the Western Ohio facility on multiple occasions.

“We assembled a brand new team at the beginning of 2006 that I now feel we can go out on the road with and compete,” said Mintz. “I’ve wanted to travel with the All Stars for a while now and I think this year we’re finally going to have that opportunity. I have my sights set on winning Rookie of the Year, but I hope we can just go out and have a successful season.” Craig is sponsored by Keller Chevrolet, Erie Shore Propane, Design Graphics Group, Walby Construction, KS Sales and Service, Griff’s Engines, Real-Geese, Fram, and Autolight.

Craig will make his debut with the series in Florida in February when the All Stars travel to Volusia Speedway Park to open up the 2007 racing season. The action will begin on February 6th and continue throughout the week. The first three nights will be sanctioned by the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions while the final three nights will be World of Outlaw sanctioned events.
