Jerrod Hull Tames Pevely Highbanks
PEVELY, MO (June 13) - Jerrod Hull continues to lay claim to something no other
driver has accomplished…winning an O’Reilly Midwest All Stars A-Feature. The
Sikeston, MO veteran captured the twenty five-lap feature event’s $2,000
winner’s share while getting his second win in as many series events during I-55
Raceway’s special “NASCAR Night” in Pevely, MO. Wednesday night.
Hull started the feature on the pole by garnering the sixth-most passing points
on a night when time trials were not conducted. Fellow front row starter Joey
Montgomery led the first lap with Hull and fourth-starting Joey Moughan in tow.
On a lap two restart, Moughan bolted into the lead and opened a sizable
advantage over Hull. On a ninth lap caution for a Billy Alley spin, Moughan
pulled in with mechanical problems, giving Hull an advantage he would not
relinquish. While Hull was never seriously challenged the rest of the way, hotly
contested battles raged throughout the field. Tenth-starting Tommy Worley, Jr.
methodically worked his way to a runner-up finish, sixth-starting Tim Crawley,
filling in for Mike Ward, grabbed third place while A.J. Bruns was fourth. Hard
charging Kaley Gharst moved up nine positions to finish fifth. Tim Montgomery,
Tom Dickerman, Robbie Standridge, Jason Keith and Billy Alley completed the top
ten.
Heat races were won by A.J. Bruns, Alley, Crawley and Joey Montgomery. Ricky
Logan won the B Main. Thirty cars competed in the evening’s racing.
Next up on the O’Reilly Midwest All Stars schedule are races at Auto Tire and
Parts Race Park in Benton, MO. on June 22nd and Tri State Speedway in Haubstadt,
IN. on June 23rd.
