MICHAEL ANNETT READY TO LAUNCH ASALMS SOPHOMORE SEASON AT SAN
ANTONIO
DES MOINES, IA (February 24, 2007) – Michael Annett has eagerly anticipated the
start of his sophomore season since the conclusion of his impressive freshman
debut in 2006. While Annett’s career behind the wheel is just beginning, his
family involvement in motorsports spans three decades and includes numerous
championship titles and crown jewel trophies. The Hawkeye State native hopes to
expand on his family’s trophy case this year while competing in the ASA Late
Model Series Challenge Division as well as various events in the Northern
Division of the ASA Late Model Series and will have his first opportunity at the
upcoming “2nd Annual Alamo 200” at San Antonio Speedway.
Annett and his TMC Racing Team took advantage of the winter off-season to
prepare both on and off the track. In addition to the hectic pace around the
shop preparing cars and equipment, Annett has participated in various tests and
events to help prepare for his team’s title contention for the ASALMS Challenge
Division.
“Everyone on the TMC Racing Team has put in a lot of work during the off
season,” commented Annett. “We had a good test at San Antonio a few weeks ago
and learned a lot about the track and how our car reacts there. We have also
assembled a great team and we are all really working well together so everyone
is ready to kick this year off with a strong run in Texas.”
Annett will make his debut at the high-banked, half-mile oval of San Antonio
Speedway for the ASALMS Challenge Division season opener on March 2-3, 2007.
Annett’s #12 Ford Fusion team that will continue to carry sponsorship from TMC
Transportation, The Marmon Group, Pilot Travel Centers, Northland Oil, Benson
International and Allstate Peterbilt.
“I’m honored to once again represent our returning sponsors – TMC
Transportation, Pilot Travel Centers, Northland Oil, Benson International and
Allstate Peterbilt,” noted Annett. “We are also pleased to have The Marmon Group
onboard for a partner. They are one of the largest private companies in the
nation and are a premier international association of various independent
business that operate in several different sectors. My goal is to show our
appreciation to all of them in the best way possible for any racing team… in
victory lane!”
The twelve event tour of the Challenge Division will visit the full spectrum of
racing surfaces to the famed high-banks of Bristol Motor Speedway to the wide,
flat surface of the Milwaukee Mile but the Lone Star State’s San Antonio
Speedway will take center stage with their crown jewel “2nd Annual Alamo 200”.
Pre-race events will get underway on Friday, March 2nd, and the green flag for
the 200-lap main event will wave at 8:30pm on Saturday, March 3rd. For more
