Lebanon Midway Moves Larry Phillips Shootout Birthday Blowout Date

LEBANON, MO. (Jan. 5, 2006) - Officials at the Lebanon Midway Speedway will be moving the 1st annual Larry Phillips 75 Lap 7500 to win 750 to start Super LateModel Event to Monday Night July 2nd.

This event will still feature NASCAR'S Kenny Wallace driving his World Champion St Louis Cardinal Modified in the 1,000 to win feature.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts MLRA Series will be sanctioning this event as top guns such as Al Purkey, Terry Phillips, Alan Vaughn, Jason Bodenhamer, have expressed the desire to compete on the Midway along with Billy Moyer, Bill Frye and many others as more announcements concerning this event will be forthcoming.

The Gates will open around 4PM that evening with Kenny Wallace doing a special autograph session before hotlaps. The Actual Racing will start at 8PM featuring a 75 lap feature for the MLRA Super LateModels,a $1,000 to win $100 to start feature event for the Modifieds and Area Bombers also.

This event scheduled to honor the Ozarks Living Legend on his Birthday will honor the famous 75 theme.

$7500 to win the 75 lapper with 750 to start the feature event.

"With 2 major events in the same town on the same night both will be a loser in the long run" quoted owner Harold Armstrong.
"I had many cals from drivers and fans both and we feel in the best interest of everyone to go ahead and move our date up 1 day. The response after we made the 1st announcement was great, but after the other race in Lebanon was announced, I received many calls and this is the best for everyone."
