Invitation/Entry packets for the 4th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals were mailed to the 66 competitors

KNOXVILLE, IA (Feb. 24, 2007)  – Invitation/Entry packets for the 4th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals on September 27-29, 2007, including entry forms, 2007 Rule Books, event format, purse, schedule and special events information were mailed to the 66 competitors in the 2006 event on February 15th. A DVD of the Speed Channel broadcast of the 2006 event was also included.

The unique format for the 3-day event allows all entrants to run both preliminary nights to determine the line ups for the Saturday Championship night. The Thursday and Friday events include Time Trials, heats, C, B and A features with $6,000 to win out of a $27,000 purse each night. The best night of the two counts for each driver. With the top 24 from the preliminary nights locked into the 100 lap, $152,000 Championship race, the remaining 42 drivers and teams will run C and B mains with 6 transferring to complete the 30 car field.

The 3-day event will also feature the annual fan & trade exhibits on the Midway, Fridays Driver/Celebrity golf tournament, Saturdays Driver/Celebrity Waiter Luncheon & Auction hosted by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, and the Meet the Drivers open house from 3-5pm in Dyer-Hudson Hall behind the midway. The infield pits will be open to fans each day at no-charge. Check schedules for actual times.

The 66 competitors from 2006 have until April 30th to return their entries for 2007. On May 1st any remaining spots in the 66 car field will be open to other drivers and teams on a first come, first served basis. Entry forms and the Rule Book with purse and format information will be made available at www.knoxvilleraceway.com  on March 1, 2007.
