Spieker, Mueller, Zadina and Hudson Win at Adams County Speedway

CORNING, IA (July 14) - It was ISSBee night for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the Adams County Speedway. All the kids got treats from the Iowa State Savings Bank, and everyone got to see more exciting racing action. Chris Spieker, Dan Mueller, Joe Zadina and Matt Hudson took home the feature wins.

Jeremy Auten took the early lead in the NAPA hobby stock feature only to have Matt Hudson charge through the pack to take the lead by lap five. Hudson had a few different pursuers, but no one could get quite close enough to put any pressure on him. Hudson claimed his fourth win of the year ahead of Chris Vannausdle, Auten, Kevin Yearington and Tom Myers.

Jeremy Swanson jumped out early in the Northland Oil pro street feature and Steve Churchill quickly came up to run side-by-side for the lead most of the middle of the race. The race ran without incident until five laps to go, which added a few more contestants for the top spot. With Swanson running the high line and Churchill the low line, Joe Zadina found a spot under Churchill to create a three-wide shootout for the lead with Ron Ballinger searching for his way around that trio. As they entered turn three for the final time, Swanson made his only mistake of the race, sliding too high entering the corner. That set up a drag race between Churchill and Zadina, which Zadina won by a nose as he led for his only time of the race to take his second win of the season. Zadina and Churchill were followed to the finish by Ballinger, Swanson and Mike Garner.

The Budweiser modified feature saw Todd Van Eaton jump to the early lead. Van Eaton ran at the point until just before the mid-point of the race when Dan Mueller rolled around the high side of him to take the lead. Jerry Carlson would attempt to close in on Mueller, but would not be able to do it as Mueller took his fourth win of the season ahead of Carlson, Russell Stewart, Kirby Stiens and Jeff James.

Troy McKee led the first few laps of the Whelen late model feature until Ryan Vicker went by on the high side. Vicker would lead until Karl Ritterbusch and Chris Spieker came to the front as Ritterbusch took his turn at the point during the middle stages of the race. Spieker was finally able to secure the top spot with ten laps to go and went on to his seventh win of the season ahead of Ritterbusch, Vicker, Paul Glendenning and Trent Jackson.
