Justin Wells Takes Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MO (July 14) - Saturday July 14 the Race Brothers Farm and Home 
Supply Show-Me Racin Series was in action at Springfield Raceway. A large crowd 
was on hand to watch the twenty-six late models battle for the twenty-two spots 
in the A-main. After hot laps the heat races got underway. The 33 of Rick Lebow 
finished in the top spot of heat race number one. The 56 of Conner Ward took 
heat two. The 98 of Ken Patterson won the third heat of the night. Leslie Essary 
in the 5e took the fourth and final heat of the night. 
Ten cars were left to battle for the four transfer positions in the B feature. 
The 15 of Kevin Henson, the 00 of Jim Fulp, Chuck Comer in the 83, and Todd 
McIntyre in the 82 would advance into the A feature. The two point provisional 
positions were awarded to the 5m of Tyler Milner and the 31 of Ron Johnson. 
The green dropped and the race was on. The 10 of Justin Wells immediately began 
advancing to the front. The first caution of the night came out for the 04 of 
Jeremy Kelley. The green fell again and Justin managed to take the lead from the 
77 of Roger Wilson. The 5e of Leslie Essary and 56 of Conner Ward were making a 
hard charge for the lead. Leslie Essary managed to take the lead until the last 
caution of the night came out for the 82 of Todd McIntyre. Wells retook the lead 
and he held off the pack to take the win. The top five were: the 10 of Justin 
Wells, the 56 of Conner Ward, the 55 of Ken Essary, Leslie Essary in the 5e, and 
the 33 of Rick Lebow. 
Up next: Sunday July 22 at Monett Speedway – Races get underway at 7:30. It will 
be a great night to come out to Monett Speedway to see racing like it used to be 
at Monett Speedway with Ken & Leslie Essary, Justin Wells, Jim Fulp, Kevin 
Henson, Kenny Hartwigsen, and many of the drivers that used to run at the track 
on a regular basis as all the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series regulars are 
expected to be on hand.
