Sprint Cars Make First Appearance at I-70 Speedway – the Dirt Track
ODESSA, MO (April 19, 2007) - This Saturday night, April 21st will be the
first of six total appearances for the sprint cars at the Dirt Track at I-70
Speedway. In an attempt to boost sprint car racing in the Kansas City area, I-70
Speedway promoter Brad McDonald has extended an invitation to all sprint car
drivers to participate in six events through out the 2007 season that will be
held on the Dirt Track, on Saturday nights, in conjunction with the Saturday
night program on the asphalt track. In an attempt to simplify a set of rules and
to include all types of sprint cars, the only rules for this Saturday will be;
full size sprint car chassis only and no wings. “How much easier could this be
for the drivers and car owners”, McDonald stated when ask what the rules would
be.
And, let’s not forget the fans. What a great deal, asphalt racing on “Americas
Fastest Weekly Race Track” and a sprint car show on the new dirt track for one
single admission price. Pit Gats for both tracks will open Saturday 4:00 pm.
General Admission Gates for both tracks will open at 5:00 pm. Hot laps will
begin on the asphalt track at 6:00 pm with the first heat race beginning at 7:30
pm. Hot laps on the dirt track will begin at 8:00 pm with sprint car heat races
starting at 9:00 pm. The sprint car feature is scheduled to start just after the
competition of the Late Model race on the asphalt track.
On the dirt track side, for this Saturday, McDonald has also extended an
invitation to all of the drivers in the MOLS (Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints)
organization to come out for an organized open practice session.
