Hard Work Paying Off For Frostbuster at Marshalltown!
By: Dennis Grabenbauer
MARSHALLTOWN, IA. (March 28, 2007) - As the time draws near, the anticipation
continues to grow, as the Marshalltown Speedway will come to life this Sunday
with the Frostbuster Season Opener. The late start in getting the new concession
stand started, has given everyone involved the challenge of working together in
making the dream of promoter Toby Kruse a reality. “It kind of leaves me
speechless, when I stand back and just watch at the determination of our crew of
professionals who are working together for the betterment of our sport in
Marshalltown” say’s Kruse.
What many considered as a project that wouldn’t be completed in time for the
season “Frostbuster” Opener this Sunday, now has the making of it all coming
together at just the right time. “We make hugh strides daily,” continued Kruse,
“it seems like everyone knows what the other guy is doing to prepare for the
next step. This is the greatest form of communication that I have ever seen, and
have been involved with.”
When race fans enter the grounds this Sunday, it will be no April fools joke.
They will notice fresh rock that has been put in place, around a state of the
art concession stand. Much of the fence work will not be completed, but what the
fans will enjoy is the concrete walkway that will take them to the grandstand
area. “I said last year that it would take some time to update this race track,
we are getting closer to what I have in my mind how I want it to look, I hope
the fans will be as pleased as I will be. With the concrete approaches, now we
can get our fans that are in wheel chairs into the races without working their
chairs through the soft and rocky ground. We just want everyone to enjoy the
speedway that boasts a very proud tradition.”
2007 will begin this Sunday with the Frostbuster before moving into the regular
season the following Friday April 6th.
The pit area will open at 2:00 with the grandstand opening its doors at 3:00.
Hot laps will begin at 4:00 and the races will start at 5:00. “I really hope our
fans come early and look around at the work all of these people have done. I
can’t thank everyone enough for taking there work to heart. They’re helping me
live my dream, and I am so thankful.”
