Fireworks follow final IMCA Stock Car Shoot-Out feature at Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 24) – Fireworks will light up the sky over Marshalltown Speedway following the final checkered flag at the 12th annual IMCA American Stock Car Shoot-Out July 2-3.

Feature events for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods will be held both nights.
Monday’s 30-lap Stock Car show pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. First place in the 40-lap feature on Tuesday pays $2,000 with a minimum of $200 to make the 24-car starting grid.

An overall Shoot-Out champion will be determined by points earned over the two days and that driver becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.

Winner of the Monday feature for Hobby Stocks pockets $500, while the Tuesday show pays $750. Northern SportMods run for $200 to win on opening night and $400 to win the next evening.

Hobby Stock features will be 25 laps on Monday and 30 laps on Tuesday; Northern SportMods will go 20 and 25 laps, respectively.

Features in all three divisions will be considered bonus races, allowing drivers to compete two more nights for points used in figuring national and regional IMCA standings. Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be awarded both nights as well. The engine claim rule will not be in effect on Monday; any driver who wants to
claim on Tuesday must also compete Monday.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Monday and at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Pit passes are $25 both nights. Admission on Monday is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under with a paid adult. On Tuesday, admission is $15 for adults, with kids 12 and under again getting in for $5 when accompanied by a paid adult.

Two-day entry fee for the Stock Cars is $50 or $75 for Tuesday only; two-day entry fee for the Hobby Stocks is $25 or $50 for just the Tuesday show. No entry fee will be charged for the Northern SportMods.
