Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders’ tentative schedule includes 18-events

BURLINGTON, IA (Jan. 5, 2007) – Eighteen events, including two first-time venues, highlight the tentative 2007 Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders campaign. In all, seven different venues dot the preliminary schedule as the club embarks on its sixth season.

Returning to the schedule is long-time series staple Lee County Speedway. The Donnellson, Iowa, fairgrounds will host a season-high six events. In 21 previous events at LCS, Matt Sutton and Terry McCarl lead the way with three victories each.

After a year absence, the newly re-branded Morgan County Speedway returns to the agenda for three shows.

The Jacksonville, Ill. quarter-mile will host the season opener for the second time. The first SIA event ever held was at Jacksonville. Joey Montgomery was the
winner.

Also returning for three shows is 34 Raceway, under new owners Jeff and Amy Laue. In addition to the traditional early-April and July 4th dates, the Sprint Invaders will run in conjunction with qualifying for the Pepsi USA Late Model Nationals in mid-September.

Bloomfield Speedway returns for two shows, including the traditional Davis County Fair date and a stand-alone event on Saturday, September 8. Last season’s event was rained out after Heat Races.

Two new venues are on board. The first maiden voyage will take place on Friday, July 13, at the Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, Iowa. The second will be a Sunday, September 9, showing at the Quad City Raceway in East Moline, Ill.

As always, the Top 10 will be looking to qualify for the Brodix Tournament of Champions on Sunday, August 5. The event is crammed in the middle of Southern Iowa Sprint Week, immediately following the Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by NAPA and immediately preceding the Oskaloosa event and the Knoxville 410 Nationals.
