34 Raceway points battle update; upcoming events

BURLINGTON, IA (May 28) - Rains once again forced the cancellation of races at 34 Raceway last Saturday, May 26. Five races have been completed for the 2007 season with fans continuing to see large numbers in four of the five classes races.

In the points races, Lonnie Bailey, Quincy, Illinois, leads the IMCA Late Models, Rich Smith, Davenport, leads in the IMCA Modifieds, Burlington¹s Darin Thye holds the lead in the IMCA Stock Cars and Luke McLaughlin, Mediapolis, is the current points leader in the Hobby Stocks. In the inaugural year of the 305 Sprint Cars, West Burlington¹s Justin Newberry holds a 2 point lead over Jayson Ditsworth.

Coming up this Saturday is American Family Insurance and Richard Realty Schools Out Special Night. All students with ID will be admitted with a special $4 grandstand admission. There will be a driver¹s autograph session in the grandstands from 5:30 to 6;15 (all drivers are invited), and for the kids ages 4-11, bring your big wheel and compete for prizes in the ³Big Wheel Races² held at intermission. Plus five classes of racing.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 6 as the O¹Reiley¹ Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull will be at 34 Raceway.
