28 SANCTIONING AFFILIATES COMMIT TO KNOXVILLE’S 2008 BRODIX TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (Dec 17) - A record twenty-eight (28) winged 360-cubic-inch sprint car sanctioning affiliates, including two from Canada and two from Australia, have committed to the $5,000-to-win Brodix Tournament of Champions at the Knoxville Raceway on Sunday, August 3, 2008. The one-day international invitational for the ‘best of the best’ in 360 sprint car racing utilizes one common set of technical rules, including use of the ASCS Brodix spec head, and will be celebrating it’s tenth edition in 2008.

According to Knoxville’s director of racing Ralph Capitani, “We truly appreciate the support from Emmett Hahn, Tommie Estes and their American Sprint Car Series national and regional tours. We also have to commend the Empire Super Sprints organization, which has been with us since the very first McCroskey Chevrolet Tournament of Champions in 1997. That year, they sent Mike Woodring, Tim Kelly, Craig Lane, Lance Yonge, R.C. Faigle, Dick Spadaro, Mike Lauterborn, Richard ‘Crash’ Nash, and Bobby Parrow out to Knoxville to compete in the ‘all star’ event. And since then they’ve sent such talented racers as Bill Coffey, Ray Preston, Scott Holcomb, Rob Dietrick, Tim Kelly, Mike Stelter, Ryan Coniam, Erin Crocker, Clair “Bubby” Kerrick, Jr., Jeff Van Dusen, Jeff Cook, Jessica Zemken and Justin Barger to represent them at the Tournament.”
