2007 Season Opener for Lucas Oil Speedway this Saturday March 31st

WHEATLAND, MO (March 27, 2007)-The "Diamond of Dirt Tracks", the Lucas Oil Speedway  roars into action this Saturday night, March 31st to kick off the 2007 season. The state of the art speedway is a 3/8th mile, semi-banked clay oval located in beautiful Wheatland, MO. 

The Bolivar Herald-Free Press proudly presents the opening night activities with six divisions of exciting, high octane, side by side, adrenaline pumping dirt track racing. On the card for the evening will be the Miller Lite-ULMA Late Models, the Pitts Homes A-Modifieds, the Chester Fried Chicken B-Mods, the TCI Transmission Factory Stocks, Hobby Stocks and the always wild Figure 8's. Wings, sideboards, and spoilers are encouraged in the Figure 8's as they race for $250 to win! In addition to an exciting night of racing the track will host Paco, the king of the rollovers in a thrilling vehicle rollover exhibition! Grandstand gates open at 5:00 with racing scheduled to begin at 7:30pm. 

The Junior Fan Club will be giving away free checkered flags to all race fans 11 and under that sign up for this ever popular club on opening night. Special activities will be scheduled throughout the racing season including the "Earth Day" Junior Fan Club activity on April 21st and the Junior Fan Club box car race on June 23rd. Children 11 and under are admitted free to the speedway. Admission price for adults is $12, seniors are $8, and Students 12-17 are also $8. Season passes are available for $200 for students and seniors, adult season passes are $300. Pit passes are $25. Special events will be priced accordingly. 

Officials at Lucas Oil Speedway are looking forward to an action packed 2007 racing program.  Among the offerings for the upcoming season include the "Spring Bling" Bonus Series presented by Sawyer Tire and two appearances by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series cars.  The first on May 11th and 12th will feature the Lucas Oil Late Models in the $25,000 to win Superchip's “Diamond of the Dirt Mothers Day Special” presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts.  Also appearing with the late models will be some of the area's fastest modifieds. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns on July 21st for a one day show along with the MLRA Late Models. A co-sanctioned Orscheln's Farm and Home MLRA/MARS Spring Thunder late model race presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts is scheduled for April 14th with A-Modifieds recently added to the program. The stars and cars of the O'Reilly MLRA will be with us again on August 18th.  The Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League truck and tractor pull returns to Lucas Oil Speedway on June 8th and 9th and the ASCS winged sprint cars will be featured on June 30th.  Added to the schedule this year will be the WSORR (World Series of Off Road Racing) which will present their season finale at the Speedway on September 22nd and 23rd.  Other events are also planned for the season including the 2nd annual Pomme de Terre Car Club car show on June 2nd and a PRCA Rodeo on May 18th - 19th. The track features a MUSCO Stadium lighting system, an "award winning" audio system featuring premium Bose speakers, and a Jumbo-Tron Video Board with Real-time scoring and timing. For your comfort, 21 luxury VIP suites are available for rent on an annual or nightly basis.
