Quincy Raceways To Open 2007 Season On Sunday, April 1
by: Jack Walbring
QUINCY, IL (March 31) - Quincy Raceways is planning to open the quarter mile
dirt oval for the 2007 pending weather conditions on Sunday, April 1. The track
will feature Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and
Hornets in a draw redraw format for the season opener.
The new electronic scoring system will be in use for testing only during this
event but all competitors are encouraged to get their transponders during
registration. Drivers that will compete at Quincy on a regular basis will be
required to write Quincy Raceways a check for a $250 deposit for their permanent
transponders that will not be cashed and will be held until the end of the
season when the checks will be returned when the transponders are returned in
good working order. Drivers who wish to compete at Quincy Raceways on an
occasional basis will be issued battery powered units that are to be returned at
the conclusion of racing on that night before they are issued any payoff checks.
