Quincy Raceways New Owners Set 2007 Schedule

QUINCY, IL. (Feb. 25, 2007) - The new owners of Quincy Raceways, Mike Karhoff and Tony Rhinberger have released the 2007 race schedule for Quincy Raceways. The schedule includes several new events in addition to the regular Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite Modifieds, Bombers and Hornets. The highlights of the year include two appearances of the Deery Brothers Summer Series for the IMCA Late Models on April 15 and Sept. 2, the Fast Track Late Models on April 22, the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders on June 6, NASCAR Night with Kenny Schrader and ???? for UMP Late Models on June 12, the $3000 to win Tital Wheel Budweiser IMCA Late Model Shootout on July 1, the $6000 to win UMP Summer Nationals on July 10, the $5000 to win WDRL Late Models on August 9, other events are expected to be announced in the future.

Karhoff and Rhinberger stated during a recent employee meeting that they want to take Quincy Raceways to the next level as they start their tenure as owners. The immediate plans are to close the back stretch entrance to the track racing surface, moving the entrance to the east allowing the race cars to enter the track on turn four and exit on turn one. Karhoff stated that they will be installing a new concrete back stretch safety wall as soon as the weather allows for construction to start. The short track used for motorcycles, ATVs and Karts will be eliminated as well this year. The future plans for the track include reworking the track into a 1/3 mile oval with a wider racing surface and new track lighting during the upcoming off season.

The drivers participating in the new Hobby Stock division are encouraged to contact Mike Kahoff at Quincy Raceways about having their engines inspected and sealed before the season starts.
