McCook Speedway Schedule Ready after Many Changes

McCOOK, NE. (Feb. 25, 2007) - After several changes to the schedule to compliment schedules of other race tracks in the area, McCook Speedway promoter Chuck Gray is more than ready to release his 2007 schedule for the action-sized 3/8-mile dirt track. The season will start a little later this year, with the first night schedule for Friday night, April 13. Racing will again be on Friday nights, with two Saturday exceptions in June and the fair race on Thursday July 26. Championship night will be on Friday night, August 24.

Among some of the activities this year will include the return of the two night Thunder on The Plains on Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23. McCook Speedway will host for the first time the Don and Ruth Hagan, Sr. Memorial races; it's fifth running. Those races are scheduled for August 17.

The Mini-Trucks, Classic Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars, and Modifieds all return to McCook Speedway for the 2007 season. The Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars, and Modifieds will be sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association. The gates will open each racing Friday night at 6 PM Central Time, with the races starting at 8 PM Central Time. The races on the nights of the two Saturday shows and the Fair race will start at 7 PM Central Time, gates opening at 5 PM Central Time. Admission for all shows but the fair race is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 6 - 12, and free for children 5 and under. Pit passes are $20.00. Information regarding prices and classes for the July 27 fair race are yet to be determined by the Red Willow County Ag Society.
