MOTHER-NATURE CAN'T SPOIL SOUTHERN IOWA SPEEDWAY RACE ACTION

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (May 23) - ) Racing action at the Southern Iowa Speedway was held but mother-nature tried three times to spoil the action but couldn't get the job done. The R L Promotions staff long with the drivers, track packers and fans waiting the three delays out. Racing action resumed and the fans got to see the finishes in all five classes.

Racing action was sponsored by Ottumwa Radio who are KISS 101.5FM, KBIZ 1240AM, KRKN 104.3FM and KTWA 92.7FM and The Casey's General Store USRA Weekly Racing Series along with the first ever apperance of the Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints put on a show.

The USRA B-Modified feature went to 15 year old Andrew Schroeder of Keswick lead all ten laps for his second straight win and first at Osky. Paul Underwood of Ottumwa took second with Ronnie Pumphrey of Altoona in third and Brett Moffitt of Grimes in fourth.

The second feature was the Mid-America 305 Winges Sprints in action for fifteen laps and Marty Stephenson of Mitchellville taking his first win in the organization and second of the year. This made the fourth diffrent winner in the touring sprint series Chad Huston of Jamesport,Mo. toook the second spot with Louis Lynch of Glenwood, Mo. in third and current point leader Matt Stephenson of Des Moines in fourth.

In the Musco Lighting USRA Modified feature Brad Pinkerton lead all fifteen laps for the win. Scott Dickey of Packwood took the second spot with Zack Vanderbeek taking third after starting 8th with Josh Truman taking the fourth spot.

In the USRA hobby stock feature the racing surface just keep getting wider and faster with three and four wide racing for the lead with Jason McDaniel taking the win. Last weeks winner Bill Gibson settled for the second spot with Mike Shelton who lead the first seven laps taking third and Chase Mitrisin taking fourth after starting 17th.

The final feature was the USRA stock car main event going fifteen laps with Matt Greiner holding off Colt Mather who took second followed by two rookie drivers of AJ Johnson and Nathan Wood taking the third and fourth spot.

Next week will feature the Casey's General Store Weekly Racing Series with all four classes in action at the Southern Iowa Speedway.
