Door to Door Racing Continues on “Five Dollar Fridays”
by: Chuck Stowe

ODESSA, MO (June 8, 2007) -  Exciting door to door racing continues to greet race fans on “Five Dollar Fridays” at the dirt track at I-70 Speedway. “I just can’t get over how close the racing has been every Friday night” commented I-70 Owner, Brad McDonald. “This IMCA racing has been great, with gas cost what it is, race fans can find relief on Friday nights, where admission tickets for dirt track action, are only five dollars”, concluded McDonald.

From his outside, row two, starting position, the 20t of Mike Tanner headed to the front and never looked back, winning the IMCA Modified Feature. Close behind Mike was the 22y of Yancy Shepard, 26ss Steven Glenn, 73 Truman Asher, 93s Chad Shaw, 44g Randy Grimmett, 54 Lynn Starry, 97 Ron Hartford and the #8 of Jeremy Simmons.

In the very competitive IMCA Stock Car division, Brad Whitney driving his #x9, raced from his sixth place starting position, to cross the checkers first. Brad was followed by the 22a of Alvie Christofferson, 11t Bennie Turner, 86 Gary Foxworthy, 50 Curtis Morrison, 12 Russell Walter and the #95 driven by Brian Audette. The 97 of Travis Taylor was unable to make the call for the feature.

In the IMCA SportMods, Brad Smith in the 99 led wire to wire however, it was the #69 of Matt Marrant who was awarded the feature win. It seems that in post race inspection, Smith was disqualified for several rules infractions. Finishing second behind Marrant was the 70 of David Willey, 31z Wade Brown, 77 John Miller and the #23 of first time SpotMod driver, Chad Walter.

The Sport Compact rivalries have really been heating up. The #62j of Jessica Clemons was first across the finish line on this night, followed by 32 Allen Guthrie, 47 Price Carter, 32v James Vaughn, 4 Casey Walter, 60 Paul Generaux, 4 Brandon Box, 7 David Edwards, 33 Jason Marrant, K2 Vince Jasper and the #6 driven by John Nelson.

Dirt Track racing action continues this Saturday night as the Midwest Outlaw Lighting Sprints return to action at the I-70 Dirt Track. Hot laps will begin at 8:00 with racing action at 9:00.

Wednesday night June 13th the “Cars and Stars” of the USMTS Modified Touring Series will make their first of two 2007 appearances at the dirt track. For additional information log on to the I-70 web site: www.i70speedway.net then enter the Dirt Track
