World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return to Lake Ozark Speedway
ELDON, MO (May 9) - This Saturday night is set to be the biggest night of racing
for the state of Missouri, when the World of Outlaws sprint cars take Lake Ozark
Speedway (LOS) by storm. It will be the first of two visits this year to the
state of the art 1/3 mile speed plant in Eldon, MO by the “Greatest Show on
Dirt”. Fans can expect to see the best sprint car drivers in the country go
wheel to wheel with the excitement that only an 850 horsepower sprint car on
dirt can provide. On their last visit to Lake Ozark Speedway in 2005, Tim
Shaffer drove the Casey’s General Store #6 to a thrilling victory in one of the
most exciting races in LOS history. With the points race heating up in the World
of Outlaw’s toughest season ever, defending champion Donny Schatz has struggled
to maintain his point lead over the hard charging Joey Saldana in his Kasey
Kahne Motorsports machine. If that isn’t enough, when you throw in drivers such
as 20 time World of Outlaws Champion Steve Kinser, Missouri native Danny Lasoski
and many more hot shoes thrown in the mix, anything can happen on any given
night. With $10,000 going to the winner, fans can expect a large contingent of
drivers to make the tow to the “Show Me State” to stake their claim.
Also on tap for the night are the UMP Modifieds racing for $1,200 to win and
$100 to start. Imos’s Pizza is also throwing in $200 for the UMP Modified Dash
winner and they’ll also be handing out coupons at the gate.
