Jarrod Hilton Takes Win at Monett Speedway

MONETT, MO (July 22) - Sunday July 22 the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series was 
in action at the Monett Speedway. Twenty-seven cars were on hand for the 
twenty-five lap main event. Fans filled the stands to watch the guys battle for 
every position. 
Four heat races began the night. The 33 of Rick Lebow took the first heat win of 
the night. The second heat was won by the 10 of Justin Wells. Jim Fulp in the 00 
took heat three. And the 5e of Leslie Essary finished in the top spot of the 
fourth and final heat.
Eleven cars were left to fight for the four transfer positions in the b-feature. 
The 98 of Ken Patterson, the 60 of Darrin Barton, the 113 of Rick Wallace and 
the 13 of Kevin Patrick would transfer to the A-main. The point provisional 
positions were the 31 of Ron Johnson and the 28b of Wesley Briggs. 
Jarrod Hilton in the 11 would set the pace with the 77 of Roger Wilson to his 
outside. The green flew and Hilton jumped out to the lead. The 7a of Justin 
Asplin and Roger Wilson were right behind Hilton and applying pressure. Everyone 
was charging hard trying to chase down Hilton and take the lead. Lap fourteen 
brought out the one and only caution of the night for the 77 of Roger Wilson. 
The 7a of Asplin was in second hoping to be able to take his first ever Show-Me 
Series win. The green fell again and the 55 of Ken Essary and the 5e of Leslie 
Essary were now in third and fourth and making a charge for the lead followed 
closely behind the 04 of Jeremy Kelley and the 10 of Justin Wells. Hilton 
managed to hold off everyone and lead every lap to take his first win this 
season. The 7a of Justin Asplin took his best finish so far this season in 
second followed by the 55 of Ken Essary, the 5e of Leslie Essary, and the 10 of 
Justin Wells.
