DAVE ECKRICH TAKES USRA LATE MODEL CHECKERS AT OSKALOOSA

OSKALOOSA, IA (May 16) - Racing at the Southern Iowa Speedway featured five exciting classes with the Casey's General Stores USRA Weekly Racing Series in action along with the USRA Late Models added to the racing card for the $3000 to win 30 lap main event.

In the first feature of the night Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon took the win in the Musco Lighting USRA modified feature passing Ken Bryant of Ottumwa and Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown for the win. Bryant and Gustin battled for the second spot with with Gustin taking second with Steven Blattler in third and Bryant taking fourth.

The second feature was the USRA B-modifieds with Raymond Lundry of Maynard making the 2-1/2 hour trip to the track payoff with a visit to victory lane holding off Brett Moffitt of Grimes who tried several times to pass for the lead but settled for second with Paul Underwood in third and fourth going to Cort Sandeman.

The third feature was the USRA stock car feature with Zack VanderBeek taking the win and Matt Greiner of Washington who lead all but the final three laps and settled for second with Colt Mather of Webster in third and Steve Landgrebe of Oskaloosa taking the fourth spot.

In the USRA hobby stock feature Bill Gibson lead all fifteen laps fro the pole position for his second at Osky. Tyler Ford took the second spot with Jesse Garrett taking the third spot and Wade Francis taking the fourth spot.

The final feature was the 30 lap main event for $3000 to win with Dave Eckrich taking home the prize money. Eckrich held off several passing attemps by Chad Simpson who was working the bottom but just couldn't find away around the 58 of Eckrich and settled for the second spot. Last years winner Jason Utter took the third spot with Chris Smyser taking the fourth spot after being the highest one in passing points and earned the pole position.

Next week will be fan appreciation night with five class in action with the Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints in action along with the Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series and $5.00 will get you into the grandstand.
