OPENING NIGHT 2007 SET TO GO AT 24 RACEWAY for APRIL 14

MOBERLY, MO (April 9, 2007) - Even though the April 7th Saturday night racing program got the cold shoulder and was postphoned 'til the next weekend, about four dozen race teams showed up for the three hour late afternoon practice session that followed the annual car show. The air temps were down but the cars were turning in some very hot laps at the hasitly arranged Test & Tune on Moberly's high banked dirt track. Some 150 drivers and crew members braved the 40° day and provided the first taste of some local circle track action for the also brave fans in the grandstand area. At least one representative from each of the regular classes were present to get their laps in, and that includes the Dwarf Car Association.

And this coming weekend, these Classic Dwarf Cars and Mod-Lites will be at 24 Raceway for the first of their monthly scheduled shows. They will be running on this re-scheduled 2007 Season Opener race night along with the classes of A-modified, B-modified, Sportsman, Hobby Stock and 4 Cylinder Hornets, with all of them competing for season points towards their respective 2007 Class Championships. A live remote from Moberly's KZZT-FM 105.5 will be on the grounds this Saturday, April 14th from 4:30 to 6:30 before the 2007 racing season begins in earnest at 7PM. The weatherman has promised warmer temperatures for this weekend. Times and prices have stayed the same: Gates will open at 4PM. A driver's meeting, followed by hot laps, will start at 6PM. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for kids, ages 6 to 12. Five year olds and under are free. A pit pass will cost $22 per person.
