TAYLOR WELD AND WHEEL PROS FORM NEW WHEEL COMPANY

KANSAS CITY, MO (Aug 4) - Taylor Weld, a recognized leader in the design of high-performance racing wheel technologies has teamed with Wheel Pros, the nation’s largest independent wheel and tire distributor to form a new company, Taylor Weld Engineering to create forged wheels for the performance racing market. Taylor, former CEO of Weld Racing Wheels, voluntarily resigned from his position after the acquisition of the company by American Racing Enterprises, a subsidiary of Platinum Equity. Taylor states, “I saw very early into the acquisition that under the new ownership, Weld Racing’s Pro Motorsports division would not get the proper resources and priority that I hoped it would.” Taylor Weld was aggressively pursued by American Racing management to continue on with the company and manage the Pro Motorsports division but declined the offer to focus on starting his own company.

Taylor Weld is under no form of non-compete with American Racing and will be in direct competition with his former company that shares his last name. Taylor states, “It is kind of strange knowing that I will be competing against the company that I have worked at for almost 20 years and products that I have designed.

The hardest part was leaving all of the great employees that I have worked with at Weld Racing over the years. Weld Racing was truly a family business with many great people.” Taylor added, “You have to believe in the leadership and vision of management and be willing to “go to war” for them. I simply didn’t feel that with the American Racing management.”

Taylor Weld continues, “I have always had a strong passion and enthusiasm for the racing industry, above all other wheel markets that Weld Racing was involved
in. With the formation of Taylor Weld Engineering, I will be able to design the wheels that I have always wanted to build for the racing industry. This is a very exciting
opportunity and I am looking forward to launching these new and truly revolutionary wheels for many markets that I have designed wheels for in the past, and some racing markets that Weld Racing never ventured in to. I have always wanted to stay focused on racing and racing only!

That’s where my heart and my head is, and that’s what keeps me excited about designing and building wheels.” The new company will be 100% focused on performance-oriented wheels for the hard-core racing market. Without the distraction of the overly crowded aftermarket “bling-bling” wheel segment, Taylor Weld Engineering will be able to focus all of its resources on the high-performance racing wheel market.

Taylor Weld Engineering will be releasing more information about the first product offerings for the racing industry in the next 30 days. For more information about
