Climate Seal Insulation Indee Open Series slated for June 27 at Fayette County Raceway

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 20) – The Climate Seal Insulation Indee Open Series will head north to Fayette County Raceway in West Union on Wednesday, June 27. It will be the second of three dates scheduled for the 3/8-mile oval this season.

Chad Simpson topped the late model field during the series’ first visit to the facility on May 22. Simpson took the lead late in the 40-lapper to score his first-ever series win over Steve Ihm and Curt Martin.

Dan Bohr earned the modified victory for his second career series win, Tory Reicks topped the stock cars and Joe Docekal took top honors in the B modifieds. All four divisions will again compete during the June event.

Simpson currently holds a 10-point lead over Martin in the late model standings. Ihm and Darin Duffy are tied for third, sitting 14 points back.

Opening night winner Ron Barker currently leads the modified division. He sits two points ahead of Mark Schulte and eight markers in front of Layne Meyer.

The June 27 event marks the third of seven scheduled series dates for 2007. Following the May 2 opener at Independence Motor Speedway and the first event in West Union, rain was the victor in what was originally scheduled to be the third series race – that in Independence on June 6. That event has since been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 1.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. on June 27, with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 and racing at 7.
