Olrich Named New ASCS Sprints on Dirt Regional Director

TULSA, Okla. (Jan. 5, 2007) – Already gearing up for a big 2007 season, it was announced today that Mike Olrich will take over the reins of the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz as the series new Regional Director.

Olrich takes over the post vacated by Jason Fausey, who has stepped aside to devote more time to family.

"Jason has done a great job of leading the ASCS Sprints on Dirt, not only during the series first year under the ASCS banner but for several years prior to that," commented American Sprint Car Series President and founder Emmett Hahn. "While he's stepping aside to spend more time with his family, he's still going to be around to help Mike Olrich with the transition so he'll still be an integral part of the ASCS Sprints on Dirt family."

Olrich is certainly no stranger to the ASCS Sprints on Dirt, as he has served as the series Tech Officer and Pit Steward over the past two seasons.

"Mike will do a great job with the ASCS Sprints on Dirt," Hahn continued. "He knows the teams, the drivers and the promoters, so he'll fit right into the position and lead the ASCS Sprints on Dirt into the future."

Olrich is enthused about the opportunity to lead the Michigan-based Regional series. "I'm excited about it, the ASCS Sprints on Dirt is a strong series with a lot of tradition and the future of the series is a bright one."

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt will feature a schedule of approximately 20-25 events throughout Michigan and into Canada during the 2007 season.

The 2007 season will mark the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with the series set to sanction more than 225 nights of racing at approximately 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
